This Privacy Policy explains how Intoit, owned and operated by JuiceTheory (“we”, “us”, or “our”), collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you access or use the Intoit game and website located at intoit.no (“Service”).

By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in two ways: (A) anonymous gameplay data, and (B) account-linked data. Where an account exists, all anonymous data is associated with that account.

1.A Information Collected Without an Account (Anonymous Use)

When you play anonymously, we do not use cookies and do not collect your email address or any personal identifiers beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the Service.

The following information is collected when you complete each stage of the daily puzzle:

• Elapsed time for each stage;
• Your tile placements at the moment each stage is completed;
• Words you formed during each stage;
• Whether a hint was used in each stage;
• Whether the game was paused during each stage;
• Anonymous ID stored locally on your device (browser local storage);
• Last active date/time.

This data enables the game to show your results, generate statistics, detect inactivity for hint prompting, and support gameplay functionality.

1.B Information Collected With an Account (Google Sign-In Required)

If you choose to create an account, the following data is collected in addition to the anonymous data above:

• Email address (provided by Google)
  • Used to uniquely identify the account;
  • Used to verify ownership in the event of an account deletion request;
  • May be used in the future for providing receipts for cosmetic purchases.
• Nickname / first name;
• IP address (for security and abuse detection);
• Users you follow within the game;
• Last active date/time;
• Date of sign-up;
• “Referred from” information, if voluntarily provided;
• Purchases and unlocked cosmetic items;
• Settings, cosmetic preferences, achievements, and event participation data.

We do not send email communications such as newsletters, marketing messages, or announcements.

2. How We Use the Information

We use the information collected for the following purposes:

• To operate and maintain the Service;
• To generate and display gameplay statistics;
• To maintain your streaks, unlocks, and account history;
• To support social features, including showing results for users you follow;
• To detect cheating or abusive behaviour;
• To enable cosmetic purchases;
• To improve puzzle difficulty, balance, and player experience;
• To secure the Service through rate-limiting and fraud prevention;
• To verify identity during account deletion or support requests.

We do not use personal information for advertising, behavioural tracking, or commercial profiling.

3. What We Do Not Collect or Use

We do not:

• Use advertising trackers or show advertisements;
• Sell or share your data with advertisers;
• Collect precise location data;
• Allow users to see the email addresses of others;
• Permit third-party search or discovery of user accounts;
• Use cookies, except where required as part of Google’s authentication process when signing in.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We may share data with the following service providers, solely for the operation of the Service:

• Hostinger – web hosting provider;
• Google – for authentication and sign-in;
• Square or Google Pay – for processing cosmetic purchases (future).

Data may occasionally be copied to Australia for internal development testing purposes. These copies are handled only by the developer and are not shared with third parties. These copies are not encrypted unless otherwise stated.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to any third party.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

5.A Anonymous Data

Anonymous gameplay data is stored permanently unless manually removed during maintenance, because it contains no personally identifiable information.

5.B Account Deletion

When a user requests account deletion (a feature planned but not currently available):

• All data listed in Section 1.B will be deleted; and
• All data listed in Section 1.A will be anonymised, meaning it can no longer be linked back to the deleted account.

Users may clear browser storage at any time to remove locally stored anonymous data.

6. International Data Transfers

The Service may store or process data in:

• Singapore (primary server);
• Malaysia (potential future server location);
• Australia (development testing copies).

By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Service is intended for users aged 13 and older. This is due to the presence of user-submitted definitions, community-driven dictionary content, and the potential for vocabulary and definitions that may be inappropriate for younger audiences.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights under data protection laws, including:

• The right to request account deletion (when available);
• The right to request anonymisation of your data;
• The right to correct your nickname or settings;
• The right to clear all anonymous data via browser storage;
• Rights under GDPR relating to access or erasure, within the practical limitations of an email-only account system.

Because we do not store sensitive personal data, certain rights (such as exporting complete gameplay history) may not apply.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
